The end of the dream
Hi All,
The equerries are seriously sorry for the delay in adding the final episode of the King Charles Alone On the Throne saga. The tour really took its toll, so once we re-entered England’s green and pleasant land, a strong cup of tea and a moments reflection was well needed.
Now fully refreshed, we present to you the final instalment…and tonight it’s New York.
New York was a tale of misfortunes and glory. Highs and Lows so to speak. Thankfully the highs far outweighed the lows.
The low point’s were centred around the vehicle….we advise all The King’s subjects never to enter manhattan with an R.V. as we encountered rather a few problems, not to mention a scrape with the law which ended with our tour manger receiving four tickets. One of which was for not possessing a valid drivers license !! Luckily we used our English charm and escaped intact.
However the Highs are what we want to talk about, and the last two gigs of the tour, at Terminal 5 were the highest points we could have hoped for. The King played two very beautiful shows…. ending with all the Lads (M&S and C-SKy) on stage for a very emotional rendition of Lady of the River…where Charles gave the song ( lady of the river) to the Mumford boys, as a gift for the tour…we can’t wait to see what they do with it.
The King’s final show at the Mercury Lounge was a full band show, so not really Alone On the Throne at all, none the less it was spectacular. The King was on fire.. and I think we all know he started it all by himself.
With that, we say farewell and until we meet again.
All our love to America,
you treated us so well,
thank you all, we couldn’t have done it without you
and we can’t wait to be back with you.
The King and the Gang xx
P.s- look out for a couple of videos..which will be coming soon. x
